FOODPICKER: Nutrition Editor Instructions
Print this page for your records.
Before working on this project, you first need to understand how FOODPICKER.org works.
- Select 4 categories (left) that interest you. We will assign one of the categories and have you add 50 new foods to it.
- Click on 10 foods in each category, NOTE:
- Capitalization of the product name
- Data that was input for the food label
- Choose this definitions: More Often, In Moderation, Less Often
- Click on the manufacturer URL/hyperlink to ensure it works
- After completing the above steps for 10 foods in 4 different categories please e-mail nutrition@foodpicker.org and
indicate which 4 categories you are most interested in.

To enter the nutrition facts for a restaurant (or any other category) we basically need to have a minimum of the following nutrients:
- calories
- total fat
- saturated fat
- cholesterol
- sodium
- total carbohydrate
- fiber
- sugar
- protein
- (and hopefully vitamin A, C, calcium and iron).
If you choose to request a restaurant, please note that you will need to enter ALL foods listed on their menu. Please e-mail nutrition@foodpicker.org which restaurants you wish to work on. You can also request a restaurant that is not on the below list and is not already appearing on the Restaurant link.
